PSAT test in October

The October 12th test is a national test date determined by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation and is the only date that AHS will be giving the exam. Exams will be administered on the AHS campus. October 12th is a late start Wednesday; however, PSAT/NMSQT tests will begin promptly at 8:00 AM. Students who have registered for the PSAT/NMSQT may enter AHS at 7:40 AM for check-in.

For all juniors and sophomores who do not register for the PSAT/NMSQT,  there will be a letter with an alternate schedule sent out regarding the October 12th date.

If your student wishes to take the PSAT/NMSQT on October 12th go to TouchBase and pay (nonrefundable) between July 20th and August 19th. In late September, your student can then pick up information and a study guide, from the counseling office, to prepare for the test. While we do not anticipate a shortage of exams, please be aware that juniors will be given priority if a shortage occurs. Fees for late registration will be assessed as indicated in the registration information on the back of this letter. If your student is unable to test on the test day, refunds will not be available.

If your student qualifies for testing accommodations through their IEP or 504 please indicate that in TouchBase when you register your student to take the test. The school’s PSAT Coordinator must apply for accommodations and receive approval by the College Board. The deadline for you or your student to request accommodations is the same as regular registration deadline August 19, 2022 at 11:59 PM. If requesting accommodations after August 19th, we cannot guarantee there will be enough time to receive approval from the College Board.
