SAP COUNSELING SERVICES
Whether you’re simply struggling to balance it all or you’re experiencing a more complex life challenge, EFR is here for you. Through the Student Assistance Program provided by your school, your child and household family members have access to free, confidential counseling.
How to Use Your SAP: Call us at 515-244-6090 or (800 327-4692 if you’re outside of the Des Moines area). The intake counselor will collect some basic info such as name, phone number, and date of birth. This counselor will also help you through any urgent needs or issues. Then you will make your counseling appointment. You will receive a reminder call the day before your scheduled appointment. Video: No Problem Too Small for SAP

Ticket Sales for Homecoming Dance: September 13th-27th

The Homecoming Dance will be held on September 28th from 8-10 PM.

Online tickets will go on sale at 8:00 am on Friday, September 13 and will be available through 11:59 PM Thursday September 26th.

Tickets will be $10 each and you can purchase a ticket using your TouchBase account. Once logged in, you will shop for Items At Student’s School – Incl. One-Time Meal Payment. Choose Student Activities. There you will find the option to purchase a homecoming ticket. If you have trouble accessing Touchbase, please contact Katie Moore or Lisa Meeker for further assistance.

Tickets will be on sale in-person before and after school, and during lunches, on Thursday 9/26 and Friday 9/27.

Tickets will be sold at the door: CASH ONLY. Tickets will cost $15 at the door. Please enter through the main doors to buy your ticket at the door.

Students must pick up wristbands by providing a proof of purchase before or after school, or during lunches, on September 26th or 27th. All students must pick them up ahead of time and wear them into the dance.

Dance Guest Request Forms can be picked up in the front office at AHS. Dance Guest Request Forms must be filled out for any guests that do not attend AHS. No students in grades 9 or below or above 20 years of age will be allowed to attend. No guest will be admitted the night of the dance without this form being on file. Students can only buy 1 guest ticket.

Night of Homecoming Dance

All AHS students will need to have their school ID for admittance into the homecoming dance and their guest a photo ID for admittance to the homecoming dance.

Wear wristband into the dance.

Entry to AHS Prom is between 8:00 pm and 8:30 pm. No students or guests will be admitted after 8:30 pm.

Students will not be allowed to re-enter the Homecoming Dance if they leave, so please plan accordingly.

We still have yearbooks!
We still have several purchased yearbooks for the 23/24 school year, so make sure to pick them up! Previous senior yearbooks are available for pick-up in the front office during school hours. All current students can pick up their yearbooks in room 2404 during Advisory or Hawk Time throughout the week.
Senior Portrait & Senior Ad Information
Please read everything below carefully. If a senior photo or senior ad attachments are submitted incorrectly, they will NOT be accepted for the yearbook.
Senior Portrait Information!
Send all senior portraits to Annastasia Manrose at annastasia.manrose@ankenyschools.org by Friday, February 28th, 2025. There is a $10 late fee for any late senior portraits.
Senior Portrait Requirements
- Send senior photos to annastasia.manrose@ankenyschools.org by Friday, February 28th, 2025. There is a $10 late fee for senior photos sent in after the deadline.
- Photos MUST be saved in JPG or JPEG format.
- Save and title the photos using the following format: Senior’s Last Name_First Name (Example: Smith_Jane).
- The subject of your email should read: Senior’s Last Name, First Name Senior Photo (Example: Smith, Jane Senior Photo).
- Photos should be vertical (Photographers: a minimum of 2.25” wide, 3” height, and 300 dpi).
- “Headshots” are preferred (head and shoulders, eye-level with subject).
- No props should be used in the photo.
- Do not use special effects or filters. Color photos are strongly preferred to black and white.
Photo Options
Our goal is to have every senior represented and to avoid having to list students as “not pictured” or “camera shy” in the yearbook. There are three ways to have your portrait taken:
- Have a portrait taken by a professional photographer.
- Use your LifeTouch school photo (Please email Annastasia Manrose at annastasia.manrose@ankenyschools.org to indicate your intent).
- Use your phone or camera to take your own portrait. Please make sure to follow the photo requirements.
Note: I will reach out with confirmation within seven days of receiving the senior photo. If I have not confirmed the receipt of the photo after seven days, please forward your original email. Please be patient while awaiting confirmation.
Senior Ad Information!
Send all senior ad materials to Annastasia Manrose at annastasia.manrose@ankenyschools.org by Friday, March 28th, 2025. Late senior ads will not be accepted.
Senior Recognition/Baby ads are an OPTIONAL purchase. They are a special way to recognize your student’s accomplishments and surprise them with a heartfelt message in the yearbook!
Recognition/Baby Ad Requirements
- First and last name of the senior.
- A senior and/or baby photo (depending on ad size).
- A heartfelt message.
- A check payment made out to “AHS Yearbook/Senior Ad” and dropped off in the front office of Ankeny High School.
Recognition/Baby Ad Options and Prices
- Small: ⅛ page ad with up to two images and 40 words ($60)
- Medium: ¼ page ad with up to three images and 60 words ($100)
- Large: ½ page ad with up to four images and 80 words ($150)
Payment Info
- Make the check payable to “AHS Yearbook/Senior Ad” for Senior recognition/baby ads. Add “Senior Baby Ad” to the memo of the check.
- Drop off your check in the front office of Ankeny High School before the due date.

FALL CONFERENCES
We look forward to seeing you at Parent Teacher Conferences on October 10th 2024, between 4:30 pm and 8:30 pm. The focus of this time will be on sharing your child’s academic progress. Conferences may be scheduled as in person or over the phone with individual teachers to discuss your student’s progress. If you would like to hold a conference to discuss your student’s progress, you will be able to access the online conference scheduler through this link – using code 7ye5x . You will be directed to schedule 10 minute conferences with individual teachers.
The link will open to sign up for conferences from 4pm on 10/1/24 to 4pm on 10/8/24.

Our staff will pass out yearbooks from 8:00-8:25 AM and 3:45-4:00 PM on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week. Students can also stop by room 2404 during Hawk Time on Wednesday and Friday.
DATE CORRECTION: If you purchased a yearbook for a 23/24 senior, you can pick up your yearbooks in the front office starting Friday, September 20th. You can also have another student pick up the yearbook for you! Be prepared to sign your first and last name when picking up the yearbook.
