Reserved seating tickets are $10 and go on sale at the Ankeny High School Activities Office beginning Monday, Nov. 30.

 

Select members of the Des Moines Symphony Orchestra will join some 180 Ankeny singers and musicians in the 35th consecutive winter music event performed by Ankeny High School choral musicians.

 

Carolers will greet attendees beginning 45 minutes before each performance.  Sweets and patisseries, prepared by 2004 AHS graduate Gwendolyn “Wendy” Rogers—the pasty chef at down town Chicago’s Tru restaurant—will be served prior to each performance.

“The Festival of Choirs celebrates not only the winter season but also choral art,” says Lester Miller III, director of choral activities at Ankeny High School. “We are pleased to continue this important tradition with some of the most beloved seasonal choral music and, I might add, some of the most difficult to learn and perform.”

 

Students began practicing in August and have collectively spent 6000 hours in preparation for the festive event.  All five high school choirs will perform:
